NUP Supporters Face Police Action While FDC Katonga Faction Holds Meetings in Busia
Today, National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters encountered a harsh response from the police, who used teargas and live bullets to disperse them.
This incident occurred amid their attempts to hold a nationwide tour and consultative meetings. Meanwhile, the breakaway faction of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), known as the Katonga faction and led by Dr. Kizza Besigye, successfully conducted consultative mobilisation meetings in Busia District, located in the Bukedi Subregion. This faction, accompanied by other leaders, managed to carry out their activities without interference, highlighting a stark contrast in the treatment of different political groups in Uganda.
